Marshall Clary: News

"Don't Give Up On Me" CD Now Available - August 7, 2008

A complete CD in now available online of Marshall Clary's songs that were written especially for performance by Stu Phillips, member of the Grand Ole Opry and member of the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame.

This CD is entitled: "Don't Give Up On Me."

This is one of the best collections of songs that I have ever written, says Marshall. "I knew from day one, that Stu Phillips was going to record them so I had his voice and his personality in mind as I wrote each song. These songs are perfect for Stu, and Stu is perfect for these songs."

Stu Phillips says: "I like the 'feel' of this CD. Something about it makes it special. It's honest. It has a great theme about real people dealing with tough times with consideration and concern for those they love. These songs present the best in us and help us through life's journey, wherever it may lead."

"There's humor in this CD, too," says Marshall. "You need a little humor in life. Don't leave home without it. It brings back the twinkle in your eye, and it puts a little 'getty-up' in your 'whatchamacallit.'"

One of the songs from this CD, Rio Tijuana, has been performed by Stu on the Grand Ole Opry and also on Canadian National Television.

This CD is one that you'll love from the first time you hear it. I wrote these songs and every time I listen to them, I am amazed that I could write anything that good.

Get this CD. You won't be sorry.

Krakow, Poland Trip - July 24, 2008

In July, 2008, Marshall Clary and 13 other volunteers were privileged to visit Krakow, Poland and to meet and make friends with local youth and adults during a visit of 9 days.

While there, we held youth Day Camps in a city park and at a local Orphanage. We also performed Country Gospel music on the streets, in the historic Market Square, in two Friday night Coffee House sessions, and in two local Sunday worship services.

AUSCHWITZ-BIRKENAU EXTERMINATION CAMP:

On our last day in Poland, before our final Coffee House performance, ten of our Team members took a half-day tour outside Krakow to Auschwitz-Birkenau, the largest Extermination Camp established by the Nazis.

I felt that I owed it to the over 1.1 million people who had been murdered there, to go, to honor the victims, and to pray for those who had suffered such atrocities, terror, despair, and death at the hands of the Nazis.

At the site of the camp we saw, and we stood in, the actual locations where the victims had suffered and died. We saw documents, records, confiscated personal possessions, and camp structures that confirmed the thorough and efficient planning and administration implemented by the Nazis as they carried out their objective of eradicating the Jews and other target groups from German occupied lands.

We heard numbing statistics and historical accounts of what had occurred at Auschwitz-Birkenau. We saw pictures of the horrendous events that took place there, of the evil of the oppressors, and of the suffering of the victims. Our minds and emotions struggled to absorb the terror of those times and of that place.

Mankind wants to believe that the evil, horror, and madness of Auschwitz-Birkenau can never happen again.

While trying to absorb what we encountered at the camp there, I recalled that God’s Word tells us that Satan’s evil schemes will ultimately result in unprecedented horror and evil, even worse than Auschwitz-Birkenau.

Speaking of the second half of the Tribulation Period, Jesus tells us in Matthew 24:21-22, that: “there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now --- and never to be equaled again. If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.”

Praise God, however, Christians have God’s promise that when Jesus Christ has completed His victory over His enemies, He will then turn to those who have followed Him as their Lord and Savior and will: “…wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain for the old order of things has passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)

WHY SHOULD WE PARTICIPATE IN, AND SUPPORT, MISSIONS AND MINISTRIES?

The sign over the entrance to Auschwitz-Birkenau says in German that “Work will make you free.”
That was a Nazi lie designed to deceive people who were being led by their enemies to a terrible destruction.

Satan, the father of all liars, wants us to believe his deceitful lie that “Our works will set us free.”
God says that faith in Jesus Christ is the only way to inherit eternal life and that our works are as filthy rags.

Had we known what awaited those who were headed to Auschwitz-Birkenau, would we have warned them?

We do know that a fate far worse than Auschwitz-Birkenau awaits those who reject Jesus. Will we warn them?

Blanca Rosa- A True Story from a Missions Trip - June 29, 2008

Her name is Blanca Rosa (White Rose).

She stands behind a small counter where she sells fruits and vegetables along a dimly lit, and smelly, walkway inside the covered central market of Santa Barbara, Honduras.

The market is a square block in size, with many little walkways that crisscross past tiny, makeshift, vendor stands where one can buy fruit, vegetables, meats, utensils, shoes, clothing, buckets, machetes, spices, etc. It’s where the locals come to do their everyday shopping.

During a one-week stay in that city in March 2007 as a volunteer member of a Christian evangelistic team, I had the privilege of walking around the city for several days informing the people in the streets, in the shops, and in the central market about the coming weekend’s evangelistic festival.

As I walked past Blanca Rosa’s little counter one morning, she ran out from behind her counter and grabbed my arm, looking desperately into my eyes. She asked me to find her brother who was in the Central Prison in that city, so that I could pray with him. His name is Manuel de Jesus. Even though I did not yet know that I was going to the prison, she somehow did.

That afternoon, I went with other team members to the central prison to hold a worship service with the inmates. It was a tragic place. The conditions were harsh and primitive by USA standards. The day before we arrived, an inmate had tried to escape and was shot and killed by the guards. In spite of all that, several inmates repented of their sins and asked Jesus Christ to be their Lord and Savior that day.

Before the service, I asked some inmates to find Blanca Rosa’s brother, Manuel, because she had asked me to speak with him. They found him, and he came to see me.

Manuel was a handsome young man with a great smile. He did not look anything like a convicted murderer, but he was. He said that he had a hearing coming up to review his case within a few days. He invited me to pray for him, and he attended the worship service.

Over the next couple of days, I saw Manuel and Blanca Rosa several times as I went between the central prison and the central market. Each time, I shook their hand or gave them a hug, and told them that God loved them. I invited Blanca Rosa to come to the evangelistic festival on the weekend, and she said that she would come.

The festival was held on Friday and Saturday nights. On Sunday after lunch, I was walking with the evangelist down the street outside the Central Market. Somehow, Blanca Rosa saw me and ran out into the street and grabbed my arm with a big smile.

She told us that the night before she had attended the evangelistic service and had accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior.

Praise God!
